Land use suitability evaluation is a method for strategic assessment of environment. Based on its intrinsic logic, land use suitability assessment method has proper capabilities for strategic assessment. The method tries to shed a light on the issue of how close are the implemented planning projects to the strategic goals. The present study applies Land use Suitability Index (LSI) at district one of Tehran to achieve the following goals: the extent to which a program has influenced the improvement of the present status, and if the method is able to find the proper answers for existing problems and questions. The findings of the present study showed that the applied method is suitable to find the proper answers. It also showed that implementing the proposed method in district one of Tehran has led to relative improvement of the proposed program. It means that improvement has been achieved by decreasing the land use incompatibility and increasing the relative land use compatibility. The results also indicated that if enough attention is paid to some critical parts, even more improvement will be achieved and there would be greater possibility for higher levels of urban development. ارزیابی استراتژیک، روشی برای بهبود در فرایند تصمیم­گیری‌ها، سیاست‌گذاری و در نهایت برنامه‌ریزی است. روش ارزیابی تناسب کاربری اراضی از جمله روش‌هایی است که برای ارزیابی استراتژیک محیط به­کار گرفته می‌شود. با توجه به منطق حاکم بر این روش قابلیت‌های مناسبی در ارزیابی استراتژیک ارائه می‌سازد. این روش، نشان می­دهد که برنامه‌ریزی انجام شده تا چه میزان به­سمت اهداف استراتژیک گام برداشته­است. بر این مبنا، تحقیق حاضر در پی استفاده از  شاخص تناسب کاربری اراضی در منطقه یک تهران است. این امر، با دو هدف انجام شده است: اول اینکه برنامه پیشنهادی نسبت به وضعیت موجود تا چه میزان بهبود یافته­است. دوم اینکه آیا این روش پاسخگوی اهداف تعیین­شده است. نتایج نشان می­دهد این روش قابلیت ارائه پاسخ مناسب به اهداف را دارد. ضمن اینکه بررسی انجام شده نیز نشان از بهبود نسبی در برنامه پیشنهادی در منطقه یک کلان‌شهر تهران را دارد. این بهبود به کاهش ناسازگاری­ها و افزایش سازگاری نسبی کاربری اراضی منجر می­شود. این نتایج نشان می­دهد اگر در بخش­های مختلف دقت بیشتری به­عمل آید امکان بهبود بیشتری در شاخص حاصل شده و در نتیجه شرایط برای پایداری بیشتر توسعه شهری فراهم خواهدشد.  https://psp.journals.pnu.ac.ir/article_2415_b47756276d79983aca70b4462a3e181e.pdf
