Urbanization is one of the basic challenges that the world society is facing in the 21st century. Nowadays, the irregular growth pattern of cities and irregular urban development have destructive effects on cities and their surrounding environment. In the meantime, the city of Bonab is not an exception to this rule. In this descriptive-analytical research with applied purpose, using the fuzzy method and remote sensing, the physical expansion and growth of Bonab city has been evaluated. In order to analyze the effective factors in the pattern of development and physical growth of the studied area, first, 10 related and main criteria including: slope, direction of slope, height, type of vegetation, distance from faults, distance from waterways, distance from communication network, distance from rivers, distance from rural settlements and distance from susceptible lands were referenced using the geographic information system were placed in the numerical range of zero to one. Then, the specified layers were fuzzy and membered by different functions, and lastly, the final map was prepared using fuzzy criteria and fuzzy gamma. In relation to the modified fuzzy gamma model, values of 0.7, 0.8 and 0.9 have been used to identify potential areas for the physical expansion of Bonab city. The analysis and evaluation of the accuracy of the model was done based on gamma layers and a number of raster layers, as a result the gamma 0.9 was introduced as the final layer of land suitability for the future expansion. Based on the final map obtained, it can be said that the favorable areas for the future expansion of Bonab city are mostly located in the north and northwest areas.

The physical growth of Iranian metropolises has forced the urban management to develop urban projects, especially in the field of transportation. These projects are generally defined from a traffic point of view and in line with physical development and the creation of infrastructure and facilities for the movement of cars, and are oblivious to social issues and spatial qualities. Therefore, many of these projects, especially in the city of Karaj, have faced widespread criticism due to various social, cultural and even economic and environmental consequences. Considering the conflict of opinions in this field, it is very necessary to check the compatibility of these projects with the indicators of sustainable urban development. This article evaluates three non-level intersection projects in Karaj based on the four dimensions of sustainable development, including "economic prosperity", "cultural vitality", "social development" and "environmental resilience". The research is quantitative and the data was collected through a researcher-made questionnaire. The results of the sustainability cycles technique showed that the projects of non-level intersections in Karaj city are unfavorable based on the indicators considered for sustainability, especially the social and environmental dimensions. Social and spatial incompatibility, great optimism about technical issues, neglecting residents' opinions, and lack of sustainable design are among the reasons for the failure of these projects.

In sustainable development planning, it is necessary to pay attention to the concept of housing and home. Home as a place for human life is related and connected to all aspects of her/his life and has different meanings beyond housing. Using phenomenological topics as a method of perceiving the structures of experience and consciousness, qualitative studies on the relationship between humans and living space can be done. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of the yard as a fixed physical element in interpreting the concept of a traditional Iranian house as a model of sustainable housing and its representation in contemporary cinema. For this purpose, two films "Tehran Tehran" and "Mom's Guest" made by Dariush Mehrjoui, which are stories taken from the lives of people in the contemporary period, were studied. Using a descriptive-analytical method, the semantic role of courtyard elements for the house in the above-mentioned cinematic narratives has been studied, interpreted and argued. The results show that the concept of home and its existential connection with human beings in Mehrjoui's works emphasizes the mutual identification between home and human life. The central courtyard is the lifeblood of the house and is one of the main factors in the stability of the traditional Iranian house. Therefore, due to the crisis of identity and meaning in contemporary lives, one of the ways to recover them is to pay attention to the role of the yard as a lost space of contemporary housing in sustainable urban development planning using new architectural methods.

Nowadays, livability reflects a robust discourse in urban development and urban design that has prevailed in the history of urban planning. Urban livability, on the one hand, testifies to the strong influence and attractiveness of the city, and on the other hand, intensifies urban communication and works by attracting more investment and human and cultural resources. Therefore, the viability of the city is closely related to a healthy city, ecological city and sustainable urban development. The present article seeks to create a practical understanding and knowledge for officials and managers of urban planning in the metropolis of Mashhad in the field of identifying and leveling key factors affecting urban viability. In terms of purpose, this study is applied, in terms of method, it is descriptive-analytical and in terms of data collection method, it is a combination of documentary-survey method. To conduct this research, after reviewing the research background and using the opinion of experts, 22 factors affecting viability in three dimensions were identified. Then, using interpretive structural modeling technique and using a questionnaire, the factors were classified into eight groups. Then, after determining the level of each factor and also considering the final availability matrix, the final model of the interpretive structure was drawn. The results showed that factors such as equitable distribution of infrastructure facilities and services, creating desirable and diverse transportation, meeting daily needs, creating employment and sustainable income, developing mixed land uses and urban diversity and creativity are among key and effective factors in relation to livability in Mashhad metropolis.
