The realization of the "Learning City," as a modern paradigm in urban management, plays a pivotal role in achieving sustainable development and enhancing the quality of life for citizens. This research aims to analyze the key managerial drivers for establishing a learning city in Bandar Mahshahr and to investigate the relationship between managerial indices and educational advancement. The statistical population consists of 384 citizens and 20 experts, with data gathered through questionnaires and interviews. A hybrid of quantitative and qualitative methodologies was employed, including descriptive analysis, Pearson correlation, multiple regression, path analysis, Structural Equation Modeling (SEM), Interpretive Structural Modeling (ISM), and MICMAC analysis. The findings revealed that spiritual indices ($\beta = 0.36$) and knowledge-based indices ($\beta = 0.32$) exerted the most significant direct positive impact on educational promotion. While social and economic indices also demonstrated positive effects, political and environmental indices lacked a direct impact, influencing the outcome indirectly through social and spiritual mediators. The ISM analysis illustrated a three-level hierarchical structure of drivers: political and environmental indices functioned as "fundamental drivers," social and economic indices served as "intermediate variables," and knowledge and spiritual indices emerged as the "final objectives/outputs." The MICMAC analysis further validated this structural framework. These findings underscore the necessity of a multidimensional urban management approach, suggesting that strengthening foundational political and environmental pillars, alongside socio-economic development, will accelerate the realization of a learning city in Bandar Mahshahr.

The rapid growth of urbanization and the increasing urban population in Iran have led to various challenges, such as the decline in the quality of urban spaces caused by different forms of pollution, as well as fast-paced urban development with little consideration for cultural and historical values. The concept of livability is recognized as an effective approach that can enhance the quality of life in urban environments across multiple dimensions, ultimately improving residents’ satisfaction. Accordingly, this study aims to assess the livability of public spaces in Bushehr city based on the Iranian–Islamic approach, using a descriptive–analytical method. The statistical population consists of selected public spaces in Bushehr, identified through a non-random sampling process by experts and specialists in urban management and planning. For data analysis, multi-criteria decision-making methods were employed, including the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) for criteria weighting and the COPRAS method for ranking the public spaces according to the defined criteria. The results indicate that the criteria of “human scale in design” and “accessibility to public spaces,” with weights of 0.125 and 0.120 respectively, were of the highest importance. Among the studied public spaces, “Lian Pedestrian Street” and “Coastal Public Spaces,” with weights of 0.860 and 0.747 respectively, demonstrated the highest levels of livability. Finally, a set of recommendations is provided to enhance the livability of these urban spaces.

Worn-out tissues are a part of today's cities that face many problems in economic, social, physical, environmental and management dimensions. The decline in social and economic status and the functional and physical disorders of these tissues, along with the sharp decline in the quality of the urban environment, are among the reasons that have forced policy makers and urban planners to present new strategies in dealing with the problems of these tissues. Regeneration has been introduced as the latest and most accepted intervention approach in the organization of worn-out tissues. The main goal of this research is to identify the key effective drivers on the regeneration of worn-out tissues of Behbahan city. This research is applied in terms of purpose and according to the investigated components, its approach is descriptive-analytical. The research data and information have been collected using documentary and field studies. The statistical population of the research, consisting of 18 urban experts and specialists, was selected by purposive sampling. Then, 28 effective variables on the regeneration of worn-out tissues have been identified and analyzed with MICMAC software. The results of this research show that among the 28 driving forces, the empowerment of residents, the allocation of financial credits in the form of housing loans, the promotion and development of urban resilience, the participation of people and interested groups in decisions, compliance with principles and rules of urban development, creating capacity to increase the income of the residents, paying attention to old valuable buildings, creating a platform for the entry of the private sector are among the key drivers influencing the future of the regeneration of the worn-out tissues of Behbahan.

The worn-out central texture of Ahwaz as the city's first core, faces some problems such as physical quality decline, access and traffic problems, overcrowding and population concentration due to its commercial nature and other factors. The existence of important monuments, cultural values, and most importantly the commercial role of this area, necessitates the proper and sustainable approach to study and planning. Therefore, in this study, it was attempted to use the regeneration approach to identify the priority planning of worn-out central tissues of Ahwaz. The present study follows a descriptive-analytical method. To collect the descriptive data a library-documentary method was applied and to collect the analytical data a survey was conducted by which a questionnaire was formulated to collect the opinions of 40 experts in Ahwaz urban planning arena. To analyze the data, the Fuzzy Delphi Hierarchical Analysis model (FDAHP) and linear regression in SPSS software were used. Findings of the present study indicated that in the relative fuzzy weighting for the dimensions of research, the economic regeneration component of the worn-out central fabric of Ahwaz has the highest relative weight at this stage and the cultural regeneration is second. At this stage, the environmental remediation component has been evaluated by experts with less priority. Therefore, according to Ahwaz experts, economic re-creation is the main concern in the worn-out central texture of Ahwaz.
